Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

We'll roll with whatever happens. At least we're giving it a try. I'll be contacting the powers that be this next weekend. Should have some info by then. Thanks to everyone :!: Keep the suggestions and support coming and we might just get this done. :p51:

Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

As far as a potential date.....The Museum anniversary Gala is June 8. First considerations will be after that. If the idea goes through I'd like to survey the no - way, no - how dates, ie, Daughter's wedding, First Communion, going to Disney World, etc., so we don't pick a day when half the p...

Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

Well, I've gotten great feedback :) . I think the positives are enough to make a proposal to the Museumm President. If his reaction is favorable, we will work on a date which is not going to be until after mid June at least. ram04, assuming this becomes a reality, I can't guarantee a spot next to th...

Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

Thanks Phil, As the original post suggested, It would probably be impractical for anyone to make a long trip for such an impromto event that could always turn out to be a bust even with good intentions and commitments. Had one in the hobby of collecting antique Glass and Porcelain Insulators from po...

Re: self hypnosis and XD

Try this:  Carefully scrape or sand along all the exterior dimensions with precise consistancy. Keep going around and around until the size reduction is obvious. The overall length and width will be closer to 1/18. The turret and other features will look just a bit over-scale but who's to say ...

Re: Good Trader Report - PART 2 - Post good Trade stories he

Thanks to Razor17019 for helping me with some 1/18 figures and some good vehicles. The best trades are when both parties pass on something they don't need to someone who is delighted to have the item or items.

Thanks again Mark!

Re: Good Trader Report - PART 2 - Post good Trade stories he

Wanted to thank gliderdwm for the WC-51. He shipped it at light speed :!: Also wanted to thank him for some spare parts to complete a vehicle he so graciously offered me and then shipped to me. They arrived well before I had expected them. They were just what I needed. Great to deal with. :D Thanks ...

Here is the B-25 in hanger 2. It sits to the front now that it is flying more. Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

So far I haven't been told I was out of my mind or that no one would want to participate. Driving distance and gas prices can always be an issue but I was hoping the Museum venue would add to the worthiness of investing time and money in a road trip. More comments? Opinions?

Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

Definately want to hear from anyone, anywhere who has tried or done this, success or failure. What worked? What didn't? Is it even practical to assume people who use an impersonal cyber forum have interest in face to face contact? Or are they more confident with just a cyber handle? Thanks! Dennis

Re: Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

My proposal would be in an aircraft hanger with unloading through the 90' hanger door if necessary. No steps, backing right up to a door. I'm proposing a bring your own table(s) event. We have a few banquet tables but bringing what a person needs would dictate their space. Don't see a problem with m...

Any Interest in a Swap Meet?

O.K., Mark, Mitch, Kevin and anyone else in a practical driving distance to the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Tri-State Area. I'm going to explore the idea of hosting a buy-sell-trade and display swap meet for this geographical area sometime later this summer. The venue I have in mind is the hanger o...

Re: Dragon Armor 88

That is one heck of a record for a single gun. Would trucks and halftracks be included in that tally? I wonder if there is any data on how many allied Shermans, like the symbol on the 88, were lost to 88's. Many hundreds? Over a thousand?

Hello,

I might be interested in the Panther depending on the price. Any figure with it? I am assuming it is loose too?

Thanks,

Re: 1/18 Jeep

Both our post war Army Jeep and the WWII Marine one on loan to the Museum have the .30 mounted. It's not that complex and could probably be an easy scratch-build. I'll have to study ours a little more and take some measurements. Might add one to my Gates Jeep. :)

The BST forum is essential to this site. You just can't go down to the corner Ultimate Soldier store or Unimax Outlet and get this stuff. I don't consider ebay as a good option. The sharing of info and resources is the heart of SSHQ or any similar site in any hobby. This site has been a God send to ...

Depending on where you live, nature can provide all you need to make trees, bushes and other various landscaping with very little modification. Just takes some time to pick that just right shape and size.
