Fantastic build of this kit. I wish I had the talent to scratch build something like that.

I like yours better. I think the next time you do a budget kit, invest a bit in aftermarket decals.

You did a great job!

Beautiful work Harry. How long did it take to complete? What's your favorite part of the building/finishing process?

Re: 1/32 Hobby Master Hellcat

I've seen this for under $200, with the stand as a pre-order, limited time offer.

I think a HM 1/32 diecast Hellcat is worth that price. Glossy Sea Blue all the way, any day. Love it. More please.

Re: merit Announcment

A 109E is not a yawn to me, that plane and the Spitfire Mk II are classic 1940 adversaries and many collectors love to display the pair in various scales. The pairing I'm talking about came before mottling went into effect, the 109's had sky blue fuselage sides, a small spine section of black green ...

We're looking at a man's dream here. I am blown away by this.

That builder made it happen. He built the stash. Hat's off to him.

Good for you Mad Sam, for giving these models a new home. Very good.

Re: Merit to release 1/18 Messerschmitt BF-109E Adolf Gallan

I want Merit to be successful as well. I'm sure Galland's 109 will find its market. I happen to be a fan of the early war, fairly clean 109E look. The yellow nose days, with the heraldy, emblems, and an overall cleaner look than what came in the later years. This, coupled with, 1/18 scale is very in...

Re: Merit to release 1/18 Messerschmitt BF-109E Adolf Gallan

The heavy and even panel line weathering kills it for me. Step back Merit, and look at what you're doing. This weathering looks like markings or camouflage. The early 109's were babied, kept clean by the crews. I have never seen Galland's early rides look like this.

Well, it's incredible when a project like this gets completed. To not run out of gas is so hard. I would have loved to see how he got scale thickness wheels. A wonderful model, I hope people who are 1/18 detractors get exposed to this work. I am not a Dora fan. I am a 190A fan and a Ta 152 fan. To m...

Re: FOV March 2013 Releases!!

Thank you Dragon53 and tmanthegreat. Very informative review... including thoughts on pricing. I don't like a lot of weathering so that aspect is OK with me. I am waiting for the overall dark yellow scheme w/ the Porsche suspension. But I'd take any JT 1/32 if the price and opportunity were right. I...

Hi Pickel^^^. Good story. You must have loved building it. The Monogram 190 inspired me to no end... I fitted mine with every extra they put in that kit, underwing guns, the bomb, the tropical filters. I also mixed and matched the coolest decals, oh, the good old days. The 1/18 version will hopefull...

190A was a childhood favorite in the old 1/48 Monogram days so I am considering this in 1/18. My decision will be on how the scheme looks.

Someone on Hyperscale two years ago was completely reworking his Atlantic 1/18 Avenger, literally rivet by rivet. He had a site dedicated to this work. Very fastidious stuff. I loved the passion to work on such a large model, I'm sure he made it look really nice.

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I have mixed feelings on the 163 as a 1/18 model. Coincidentally, I'm reading Top Secret Bird, which is a good first-person account of the 163's training program and combat deployment. Honestly, the 1/18 paint scheme will be the deciding factor for me.

It would sit well with the 262B night fighter.

My apologies. I did not know it was another member's sale. I did not see a connection with the ebay name and the poster's name.

I thought the post was an FYI on a good ebay price, that's all.

Sorry guys.

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I think the standard retail price of $169.00 USD (or thereabouts) is quite reasonable for a model of this caliber. It is the best 1/18 model I've seen, and honestly, the exhaust stains are pretty darn good. In fact, Merit's paint work really gives it an authentic feel. I love this model and the feel...
