Marine Hummer HX based on the 1/18 Maisto Concept
First off, this is my first "military" diecast mod, so I have much to learn. Although, I have been modding plastic and 1/18 regular diecast for a while. Somehow I ended up with two of these, so I decided to repaint one. My original thought was to make one like the one in Transformers 2 , but when I ...

Re: Need Help looking for TRON figures 1/18 size
Did you find the yellow light cycle? I saw them at a WM but it was the day before Christmas, so I waited to see if they would be there after, but of course they were gone and have not seen them since. I have seen both figures at a local Target. Will check and see. Also, do they make two different Qu...

Do it! It is 'bucket-list' worthy! I have a picture somewhere of 12-15 B-17s parked next to each other.DocTodd wrote:I want to go to the fly in.

Re: B-29 and X-1
I am lucky enough to live close to http://www.bomberfieldusa.com/ and have seen it live, but not sure if it is the same set up/pilot or a duplicate. If you are ever in the NW Houston area on those dates listed on the site it is well worth spending a day looking around. Specially the Big Bird gatheri...

When my son and I went to the Smithsonian Air & Space annex, they has this model and it was huge. There were several other interesting models as you can see in the background. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/acisne/planes/DSCF0449a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/acisne/planes/DSCF...

Re: "Lost" Raiders of the Lost Ark Wave Will Be SDCC Exclusi
Just thought I'd let everyone know this early that the "lost" wave of figures from the Indiana Jones line will be made available this year at San Diego Comic-Con as exclusives. This included Toht, German Mechanic, Indy as German, etc. Enjoy! And to the guy that bought the hardcopies in a specific a...

How I fix broken props (and most other parts)
I just got a couple of used planes from a member here. They were used and packed very well, but one of the props was broken in transit or I broke it removing it off the box. I have been using this method to fix broken side mirrors and wheel stubs on diecast and some of you may be pros at doing this....

Re: Diecast Army Jeep w/trailer annouced by AutoArt
So, now we have 2 1/18 guys new to the military market? Any details on the "cheap one"? Does the top collapse? Rubber or plastic tires? Detailed or any engine? Inquiring minds want to know. TTT No clue on the detail as they were just announced. You can contact Jeff at DiecastAuto and he may know: s...

It looks like Norev heard the gripes about the AutoArt price and they will be selling a $59 version.

The best way I found was to blow up a balloon to the right size and spray the canopy with some heavy duty starch.

Thanks again to all that replied and PMed me! Looking forward to my son opening it up Christmas morning. Thanks for the offer iflabs. I went ahead and got one from AviatorNut mainly because they take PP and I have funds there. Also, I would like to make this a dad-son project to clear the spots.
Thanks again and if anyone is looking for one, here is their chance!

Re: Question on 1/18 JSI F-14
Thanks! I just checked the site and it is still $209. I would get the spotcat if it was that price (plus probably add another plane for Santa to bring me.
I plan to hang it like the F-104 he has already up there.
Do I need a secret handshake to get the email?

Question on 1/18 JSI F-14
We are getting our 14YO son one for Christmas (I don't collect modern stuff) so I wanted to know if there is a way to know who is selling the lesser spotted one and who has the best deal on it.
I saw that AviatorNut has it for $209, is it the early release?
TIA

Re: PTE Recons
What does the F-18 scale to? Also, are the underside of the wings finished? or are they like the A-10?
I would like to get one, weather it and hang it up, but the hallow wings bottoms would be a deal killer.
