Somebody mentioned too many Pacific planes? Or too many Pacific paint schemes?

We have the Corsair and...

P-38 in multiple choices, P-51 (big Beautiful doll), P40 warhawk, zeros.

Not that I think there are enough. the more the merrier.[/quote]

FAVORITE P-47

Time for another poll. What is everyone's favorite P-47? Since there are a few opinions out there, I would like to know which one is your favorite, for whatever reason (most valuable, best looking, most accurate, etc). I think I got every version in the poll but if I missed one, let me know. I could...

Great piece of work. Proof positive that attending these shows has some residual value.
I don't recall seeing this p-51 in any reference material. Is this based on an actual plane or is it made up (and if it was an actual plane, is Roy Sutherland related to his namesake on the canopy)?

Ferg,
Don't most Canadians feel they are in the 51st state? Up here in the 49th state, most people feel more akin to Canada than to the rest of the US. Must be the cold weather...or the hockey...or both!

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply on the Old Crow potential mistake. If it is determeined to be a goof, is there a way BBI can make an "Old Crow" decal available for the other side of the fuselage? I thought it would be a good customer relations move and it would keep me from going through the rigors of...

To my knowledge; 1. Two Zeros, one was a Bad Cat exclusive, the other is being re-released after selling out. 2. Six Corsairs; Jolly Roger, British, Korean War, Checker nose, Boyington, and Bunker Hill. C-21 also hade a S-4 version that was never produced. Do not know what the paint scheme was. 3. T...

I'm disappointed in the BBI authenticity. the worst example is the P-51 Old Crow that carries the name on one side of the nose when it should be on both sides. This is such an obvious error it makes me wonder how much research was done.

Miike, What s the story with "Old Crow" only on one side of the fuselage (nose)? This was posted on the discusion board in BBI Finds and was suggested the question could be answered here. Other models (including Corgi) depict the Name on both sides of the nose. Was this a mistake or is someone else ...

Instead of heating a nail, I drilled a hole with a small bit and glued a cut nail into the hole. Was able to use a longer pin and didn't risk heat damage to the strut. I've fixed four 190 gear struts that way. Works great. Start with a bit smaller than the nail (pin) and ream out the hole as needed ...

The wheel struts don't lock down and the lower strut wheel swivel doesn't lock in place in either a retracted (flat position) or extended (forward facing position). When retracted, the wheels don't sit completely flat in the wheel housing. The covers for the strut housing don't sit flush either and ...

Tey should do a version of Jack Chennault's (son of General Chennault) Aleutian Tiger P-40. Might be a later version, though. The nose art is pretty cool.
Check the link. http://www.alaska.net/~gidg/Aleutian%20 ... story.html

I hope they retool the wheels, also.
