Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

JIM@MERIT: I just ordered a Coral Sea Dauntless a few minutes ago. My only complaint about the model is that it needs pilot figures. To me, a model plane, particularly as large as 1/18, is naked without pilots. For the price of almost $170, I think pilots should be included. If Merit cannot provide...

Badcat has their preorder up for the Hornet: http://www.badcattoys.com/shipsandsubs.html They've listed it for $129.99 with free shipping, so a little cheaper than the shop above. Aparently, there are two versions of the ship: A Doolittle Raid version and a Midway version. The planes are sold seper...

MTS ad says 'canopy in open or closed position', which i take to mean there are two seperate canopies that you plug in, depending on which option you prefer. This is along the lines of what Jason said Admiral was considering and also makes sense given the plastic model kit origins of this plane. ht...

JSI is quite concerned about the eventual sticker price and are finding ways in how to keep cost down.

As for the IDF F-15,... the sole intension was to add more "color" in the convention booth rather than air planes in various tone of gray color. That's why they did the Iranian F-14 too.
