Specifically, I'm looking for the PBY Catalina AA36102 "Snafu Snatchers"
Looking to trade my Corgi B-17.
Or, know of anyone with this model maybe wanting to trade for something?
I know Aikens still has it, but really looking to do a trade.
thanks!

deankleines.... you want to contact JSI directly? Or Merit? Good luck. Aiken's is trying to get refund for me, they are not optimistic that Merit or JSI will do anything or stand behind their product. Aiken's ordered the max allotment too. You want to buy mine? If you wanna buy my special edition wi...

deankleines.... you want to buy mine? If you wanna buy my special edition with these "minor" issues that can be "easily" fixed, I'm only asking you pay what I paid... $299.99 + $15 shipping. Actually, I'll discount it, you only pay $299.99 How's that? I think all other JSI vendors still hv them in s...

Well TKO emailed me last and sounds like my F-14 was the worst of the 20 planes he'd seen. I spoke with Sally at Aiken's Airplanes today, she said they were going to try to get something done with Merit but she didnt sound hopeful that Merit would stand behind the product. She said they were embarra...

Re: Good Golly Miss Molly!!!
Just found the markings for my bird!!! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697190 Yee Ha! Well, they're not exactly 1/18. The JSI Tomcat is 41.25" long while Steve Shumate's R/C Tomcat is 39.8" long. But I hv to admit those are some nicely designed decal sheets (even if there's no ordna...

Re: Decals for JSI 1/18 F-14 Tomcat
One of the first things we were thinking about doing was an aftermarket set similar to what the JSI boxing comes with for anyone wanting to repaint. thanks! -brian Hey Brian, aka Fightertown Decals What's the smallest decal you can print, or that is practical? I've done some prelim drawings of the ...

anyone know where i can get 1/18 decals for tomcat missiles? Send a PM to boardmember Jackson. He is the owner/creator of Vexillarius Decals and can do custom orders upon request. He will likely need the measurements and pictures of the markings for reference. His work is top notch and, having used...

Agree the landing gear should probably be diecast with something this size. Diecast 1/72 scale stuff has plastic gear too, and they can sag. The plastic gear on the Century Wings F-14 is also tricky, you can break a support if you're not careful and the plane will sit lopsided. Few of you may be int...

P47faninchicago, I can still see the spots on your model, but agree it looks quite a bit better. Maybe a little more blending, or a little darker and the spots wouldn't be visible as spots at all. I was really hoping your technique is something like what JSI might have done when the spot detailing t...

It kinda reminds me of the Hobby Master 1/72 F-4 Phantom Jolly Rogers. Instead of USS Roosevelt, it read "USS ROOSEYELT." The 1/72 crowd complained, but of course there wasn't going to be a recall, and Hobby Master wasn't going to re-lease a corrected version. The mistake was small, you had to look ...

If the posts around the web bear any resemblance to what they are getting as emails, I wouldn't reply either... If an auto mfg'er released an auto with a defective paint job, and a vast number of potential buyers complained, there might be a recall. But you're right, buyer would hv to vote with the...

Why would JSI send over 4, 20' containers and not 2, 40' High Cubes? They could fit more for less that way. My guess is that a few more than you would think were sent over. You usually never make fewer than 3-5 thousand of your first release of new model. That is the one that sells out the fastest....

the tomcat is about 6 cubic ft in size (the box) and a container is 2000 cubic ft (assuming that's the internal vol) so that's roughly 2000/ 6 = 333 per container and there are 4 containers so that's about 1300 & change. Not incl the Special Edtns, which i as assuming arrived by other means since t...

Good job, SierraMikeBravo. I guessed around 1,500 without doing the math. Somewhere b/t 1500-2000 is safe bet. And that's pretty much the saturation limit one might guess. Century Wings usually sells out runs of 1000 on preorder. Runs of 1500 tend to take a little longer but eventually sell out. Run...

Just noticed this post fm BadCat's website "talesofthecat.com" : Merit, our distributor for the 1:18 F-14, told us container #4 of the Tomcats is leaving LA on Mon, bound for our warehouse in N. Calif. In all, there were 4 containers brought in from China and the last one, is BCAT's... Is it me or d...

Kudos, NWarty. Sounds like you have a pair of future enthusiasts. Good point, anyone will spot it, not just adults. "The only difference b/t men and boys is the price of their toys..." More power to any kids who can buy these, but they must have a heck of a lemonaide stand. JSI has to know who their...

Agreed. Had JSI's QA/QC guy been a collector, or someone who at least had a modicum of passion about the field in which he works, or had just a smidge of understanding about WHO HIS CUSTOMER IS, ie, not some child, but a discriminating adult who has money for $250 dollar plastic toys, then surely JS...

Greetings: Unfortunately though if they did that this entire board would probably complain the F-14 had no weathering. I can hear it now. "There's no weathering. I'm cancelling my preorder and never buying anything again in 1/18. How could JSI do this to us" I feel for the companies, they can do no...

how to weather an F-14
I think there are some oval-shaped access panels on the upper surface and wings of the Tomcat, allowing "access" to the hard to get to areas. And this was probably what the paint master was trying to create, since weathering occurs around panels lines, and thus access panels. But I think that was lo...
