Re: roll call any groundpounders?

Groundpounders was one of the first sites I ever joined and posted on. I only come here now maybe a couple of times a month. Each to their own opinion, it's just for me that 1/18 has been dead for quite some time although I still have a couple of pickelhaube's kits that I still have yet to work on.

Nope. Paid $145.89 recently for mine and that included shipping. Beat that price by $2.87. Not bad though.

Re: My Conversation with A Merit Rep Regarding 1/18th Scale

Even though I have bought a couple of pickel's well done releases, I gave up 1/18 armour for dead years ago. I switched to 1/16 due to the all of the customizing accessories available for them. Each to their own, I just didn't want to keep hanging on to a dead scale when so much was available in 1/1...

Got it off of Amazon. I do searches quite often there for military collectibles. Not much there but you never know. Surprised to see it at that price.

Just could not pass it up.

UPS delivered this today. Guess I would have to rate it as my best buy. The most common of the ones released but still, $111 which INCLUDED shipping wasn't too shabby. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a222/hotrodrock/BBI%20Hornet/016_zps4fad461a.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a222/hotrodrock...

This one was a long time coming.

Got this in the mail today. Been after one for a long time. Happy to get it at what I didn't consider to be an overpriced figure. P-38's have been my all time favorite plane since I was a kid. Glad I didn't leave the hobby several years ago as suggested by one the members here when I disagreed about...

Are these Forces of Valor?

Just received the Holiday catalog of "Military Issue". On page 32 are several 1/72 German vehicles. The price seems a little low for Forces of Valor, Dragon, or Hobby Master models. Since they never list the manufacturer, does anyone know if they actually are Forces of Valor? Maybe Altaya? It says t...

Re: is forces of valor going out of business?

Some interesting comments in this thread, especially about some of the new 1/32 releases being overpriced. Couple of years ago I made a post saying the same about repaints of some 1/32 planes that were being re-released. The price on those hadn't doubled from a few years earlier but were close. Some...

It seems from past posts that several members got the 1/16 King Tiger. Anyone done and repaints are customizing on them? I noticed another paint scheme has been released which is a tan, white, brown scheme. I've got quite a few good reference books but have not been able to find anything similar. An...

Makes me sad to see the 88. I was into 1/6 big time years ago. Would have been all over one of those if they had been made. Have to agree though, it's even sadder seeing what might have been.

Re: Enough to make you weep.

Its funny that a couple of posts mention dreams about the hobby. Serious as a heart attack when I say I have this recurring dream (or nightmare as it were) at least once a month about going into a store and finding the mother lode of all the things I collect. These are not just regular items but pro...

Re: 1/18th BBI WW2 Paratroopers at Fred's Super Dollar

Go to the Freds Super Dollar Store here all the time (known locally as Drop Dead Freds). They got in about 40 of the Elite Force WWII paratroopers a couple of days ago. I was temped to get at least one set of 4 but they would just end up in a storage box and it might be years (if ever) before I saw ...

Re: TOY HUNTERS cable special on collecting now a series! 1:

And don't forget, in todays reality TV world, it might be a hit showing grown men running into toy departments at Wallyworld, knocking people over trying to get to the 21C toys on the shelves. My favorite trick when I saw a kid and his Mom looking at what I was there for was to yell "Look, a baby w...

Got both of those although I can't recall if my DAK Kubel is a 21st or Dragon. I think the 21st one had the desert baloon tires that were smooth without the ribs. I have the DAK Kubel ambulance from Dragon also. Believe I have 5 in all. Is that the bbi SAS figure driving the SAS jeep?

Re: Forces of Valor 1:32 February NEW RELEASES

What can they make that will be actually "new" and also be desirable to the majority of collectors? Any ideas? Remember though, it has to be something that would appeal to the majority and not just a few. There are pieces that each of us would like to see made but there might only be 8 of us in all....
