Re: Helpful Hints On Building Your Hind

Hey Guys , I have worked on the first 2 HINDS over the holidays Every time I think I am ready to seal up the main fuse I realize I need to do one more thing before I do . That was about 5 things ago. Presently I am working on the cargo doors. I am dealing with the hinges, mountings and door linkages...

Re: What does the wife really think about 18th ?

I need to weigh in on this topic. I have been collecting spiked helmets for close to 30 years . At first she was keen to the helmets coming in . ( how much did you pay for that dead man's hat ?) Then, this is getting out of hand when will it stop ? She says . When I reached over 100 I started to run...

Re: How To Make Easy Realistic Looking Tracks

It's a common mistake but once you submit to the internet and ask why those Panthers have 3 pipes on one side it is very clear. And in fact you can see the actual thing on the few running Panthers with that arrangement. The early Panthers had an issue with unburnt fuel buildup under the engine and ...

Re: How To Make Easy Realistic Looking Tracks

Now you know real track doesn't get anywhere near that rusty on a working vehicle, right? Also, those two smaller pipes on either side of the left-hand exhaust pipe aren't exhausts. They are cool air intakes and they do not get heat oxidation like an exhaust pipe does. They keep their paint. But th...

How To Make Easy Realistic Looking Tracks

Hey Guys, I am not a fan of heavy weathering . That is the new thing in modeling. Tanks did not last all that long in WW2 especially German tanks Maybe a week not more than a month , In that time span, tanks did not rust . If a track did , as soon as it rolled most of the quick rust was slung off an...

Re: Sd Kfz 251 front end custom

I have used this mod on 3 251s and it was a great idea Normandy. I did not use your heated knife idea , I used a thin drill bit to cut the differential nub out chuked in a Dremal. On one of them I did get a little wild and had to use a plastic shim to tighten up the gap I created , that worked out f...

Hey Guys , I made the molds years ago with an RTV that will last through 100 pours. The thing is that my resin sticks to it. When I use mold release when the resin heats up the oil in the release cooks the resin like an egg in a skillet. This makes impressions in the resin . I have 2 like this that ...
