Re: 1/32 Revell HE219 nose weight experience? Ha! lemme tell
Oh I forgot to add that the pics of the P-38's were taken recently so I would consider adding some kind of lifting device to take the weight off the landing gear and your work of art will last many years.

Re: 1/32 Revell HE219 nose weight experience? Ha! lemme tell
Looking like its coming along great. A very long time ago I made several Revell 1/32 P-38's. Back then I loaded the nose and areas behind the props with worn out Carbide lathe inserts from a machine shop. They are very heavy. I was thinking about making the landing gear out of steel or aluminum rod ...

Museum Display with 1/48 aircraft
I had posted awhile ago with the 1/48 scale Birdcage Corsair that I had made depicting 2nd Lt. Nick Mainiero's Corsair as it looked just before his mission where he returned with most of his tail blown away. Well being that the museum is an all volunteer and the few of us wear several hats we finall...

Excellent work, I always liked the Me-262 and you did a beautiful job. Did you have to use a large amount of weight in the nose?

Re: Reworked 21st Century 1/144 2.5 Ton
Thanks for the positive comments guys. Working on a second one to maybe throw up on Ebay. Not sure which would be more desirable OD body with OD canvas over cab & bed or OD body and tan over cab & bed. Suggestions? Will post pics of build when done.

Re: Reworked 21st Century 1/144 2.5 Ton
Thanks grunt1,
I was just looking for something in WWII. I recall a lot of OD canvas covers at the military shows. I am not a military vehicle person, I am more on the aircraft side.

Reworked 21st Century 1/144 2.5 Ton
We got a few 21st century 1/144 2.5 Ton Trucks at a decent price. We didn't have one with a canvas cover over the back cargo area and decided to try making one. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh623/repligun/IMG_1547.jpg The big chunck of plastic that was used to screw the truck to the base was ...

Re: 1/48 Corsair finished for museum display
Thanks guys, the biggest honor I have is to have known the pilot of the aircraft and to have had many conversations with him before his passing. If you have a minute please go to the Connecticut Air & Space Center museum's website to read about him. This is a man who took a shell in the cockpit whic...

1/48 Corsair finished for museum display
The 1/48 scale Corsair model for the Ct. Air & Space Center museums display of 'Home Town Heroes" has been finished and delivered. The base color is Model Master Intermediate Blue. All the other shading and hues were achieved with pastel chalks applied by scrubbing or brushing with Q-Tips or paint b...

Museum 1/48 scale display
The Connecticut Air & Space Center Museum's latest work in progress is a display to honor three of it's residents. It is aptly named Home Town Heroes. The display was initiated and erected by a local young man in pursuit of his Eagle Scout Badge. The 6 door size panels are divided into 3 separate se...

1/144 B-24D NOW it's Finished
I went back to look at the aftermarket .50 Cal waist guns once more. They are really molded nice and just a tad oversize. I reworked a pair down to where they looked adequate enough for me to be installed in the waist windows. These two pieces were the last items that were needed for me to put the a...

1/144 B-24D Finished
Tom, Ketelone thanks for the positive feedback. After waiting a few days I looked over the way the left side decals came out and I decided to continue and apply the decals to the right side nose, tail and nose wheel hub. Once those decals had set I touched up some places with the Olive Drab, Red, Bl...

B-24D 2nd UPDATE
Well this set of homemade decals is really testing. My son Chris did a fantastic job of redrawing and sizing them. (We seem to work on a lot of model projects together that’s why I always make the reference of “we” in my posts). We decided to try something different this time, seeing that we would h...

Re: 1/144 B-24D UPDATE
Thanks Tom, we have a lot of stars from kits and many different after market company's so they are not the problem. We do try to make our own specialty markings for the specific aircraft we want to make. It ends up being a hit or miss deal. We have found that the ink from the inkjet printer has to d...

1/144 B-24D UPDATE
After putting a few stars on I was researching where I had to drill a hole in the starboard side of the nose glass for a gun, I then realized I made a mistake by cutting in the side nose window. The B-24D did not have the window on this side. I had to fill it with putty and fix it http://i1255.photo...

1/144 B-24D
Hello all, I haven't posted in awhile. We have been seeking for a long time a decent looking 1/144 B-24D. Being spoiled by CafeReo's beautifully mastered B-24J's didn't help the situation. Hobby Master does make a nice looking rendition but they are expensive and would be a shame to change the marki...

Re: 1/144 P-36 UPDATE Finished
cnq and p51 thank you for your responses. I still have the bug so I might grab one of the P-40's from Chris. He has a lot of work to do with the diorama base and searching for figures. He has sent for trees and foliage from all parts of the world. There are some vehicles that go along with the diora...

Re: 1/144 P-36 UPDATE Finished
After comparing the sizes of the stars many times I finally decided not to use the ones that I had been waiting for and used some decals that Chris had in our stockpile. I did the bottom decals first seeing that they were the least noticeable in case something happened and I was right. I brushed glo...

We have purchased several decal sets from MYK Designs and th...
