Re: Kyushu J7W1 Shinden
This aircraft was always one of my favorite designs. A truly beautiful shape. Nice work! Very accurate finish and detail. How much weight did you need in the nose?

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
More than a few of those Futura Choco Egg planes are either close or spot on to 1/144th scale. Yes there are some Choco Egg planes that are in our 1/144 collection. Heres some pics for size reference. We have a Bandai Wing Club F-86 , F-Toys F-100 and a Choco F-84 Thunderjet. Then the Thunderjet wi...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
Historic Aviation still has a sale going on with their X-Plus Zeroes at half price, so I ordered one. (the white striped version) If I like what I see maybe get a couple more. They are supposedly all metal and look to have very nice detail. Anyone got one of these? (thanks to Jolly Roger for that h...

Re: Ct. Museum's first offer
Hope your Ebay auctions go well, Jolly Roger. It is definitely for a worthy cause. Thanks Snake I appreciate that. I had added to this thread earlier saying I added some more diecast but for some reason it didnt take. I must have done something wrong. Anyway I put up some more, Please everyone keep...

Ct. Museum's first offer
Well we are testing the waters. We had some trouble with setting up accounts but were sure were all set. I am the Artifact Acquisition Coordinator for the Connecticut Air and Space Center Museum ( I might have said that in another thread - sorry ) and I have been given the task to post the items the...

Found a group of X-Planes on ebay. They cost more when they are sold one at a time.

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
JR: that's neat. Do you have them all do you thnk? I knew about all the ones you have shown except the X-29. I have the common six ones now. I didn't want the predator and x-45 as i'm not into drones/uav's. I need the yellow northrop, the wright flyer and it seems, the x-29 too but all those seem t...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
Nice custom paint JR. I looked over the one I bought again to see if it had that weathering and didn't see it. Oh well, who doesn't want a Memphis Belle? Might have to do something like that myself. Interested in seeing those steel guns and weathering up close if you get a chance, thanks. Aferg, yo...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
Has anyone ever seen this: http://ballstownsales.blogspot.ca/2012/03/x-planes-1144-wright-flyer.html It's made by the same company that made the little plastic 1/144 X-Planes series that THP was talking about a while back. The company is called Model Maker. Apparently they also had a Legends of Fli...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
Yeah seen those other two special Betty and Lancaster. You can still get them, but never the B-17. Noticed the Cafereo Memphis Bell next to the F-Toys B-17G. Does it come like that slightly mottled OD with the different shade of OD rudder, or did you do some paint mods on it? I had been watching on...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
OMG! An F-Toys Bit 'O' Lace B-17G...to die for...well maybe that's over reacting, but I suspect very rare and expensive. Could it be the holy grail of 1:144 B-17's ? Had no idea there was a special one out there. Aferg, yeah those white spots I figured for a winter scenario. Kinda funky, bu...

Dauntless: The B-17 with the yellow tail is "BIT O LACE" it was the "special" B-17 that came with the F-TOYS HEAVY BOMBERS set. The other 2 specials in that set were a white Lancaster and a white with green surrender crosses Jap Betty.

Some 1/144th B-17's. There's an Me-262/P-51 DogFight pack missing there, the 262 is all grey with a red tip nose, and the P-51 is the yellow nose camo one you have listed.[/quote]
OH MAN! You mean I'm missing one? Now I have to start searching. Could you post a picture of what the Dogfight set looks like.

Re: 1/48th Monogram F-117A
Very nice job on the model and base. Excellent work, that kind of detail is a lot of work but looks so nice in the end. If I can add my 2 cents. If you could get a super duper microscope and look at at flat finish paint job it would look like mountains and valleys. When a decal goes on to a surface ...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
Another tip is to cut away as much of the clear carrier film as possible. Cut as close to the decal as you can. This means your one piece tail decal would become 3 pieces. You would have the "L" the "US AIR FORCE" and the "NUMBER". I'm sorry i did not say that earlier, I forgot. Thats what I do, cut...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet
OK That looks nice, gotta get a few of those. As far as decals what we use is a product called Solvaset. To really make it work right there are a few steps. The glossier the surface the better the decal will lay down. Remember all aircraft started out glossy, time and the sun and weather faded the p...

Some 1/144 Thunderbolt's
Here are a grouping of Bandai WingClub and 21st Thunderbolts's. The 2 with the yellow stripes on the wings are painted as the real pair of P-47's we saw perform at a Thunder Over Michigan Airshow. The rest are either how they came out of the package or remarked with new decals and paint. There is al...

Re: opinions on 21st Century 1/144 planes?
I just went through our inventory because I was wondering how many 1/144 aircraft 21st actually made. I am confident we have the complete series that was made cause we constantly searched several times a week until 21st Century folded. There are 15 two pack's and 20 single box's. In my opinion looki...

Re: My P-40 B/C Collection
Very nice collection. I too like the early P-40's. They look so streamlined "art-deco". They look like they are going fast just standing still. Your collection jarred my memory of the P-40's I built when I was younger. I ran downstairs and took a couple pics of the old Monogram I built about 30 year...
