Re: Need 10 more 25's and a lot of time

I thought you could buy the entire Doolittle B-25 set from Merit? I had to search for them and found the Merit B-25's at Foxhole toys. 6 B-25's perpack. But they are 1/350. Now they would also make a great looking diorama with a lot less work. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh623/repligun/1-35...

Thanks Dauntless, Yes the deck is printed on a heavy weight cardstock. Your right the camo ones shouldn't be too hard to repaint.

Need 10 more 25's and a lot of time

I have been toying with this idea for a diorama for awhile. I just have to get 10 more B-25's ( I still have 2 in the box's) and a lot of time. Maybe a project for when I retire several years down the road. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/hh623/repligun/Picture1514-1.jpg http://i1255.photobucket...

WHOLLY MACKEREL! I thought we had a lot. We bow to a master. Very nice collection and great looking showcases.

Re: 1/48 JEEP Hallmark Ornament

The original price on the box is $17.95. After Christmas the ornaments start to get reduced. I found this one at %75 off. Came to about $4. Thats probably the lowest they get. Hard to find now.

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

The Cobra is just a hair under 3 inches. The back of the mini plane box's list the specs on the airplanes including the scale. It happens that the box my Cobra came in was for a regular Huey.

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

Well now that you mention it. No just kidding. Wow that would really be something to have but I think I would rather have the MACON airship with the SparrowHawk aircraft with it. I am surprised that it's being sold by Walmart!

1/48 JEEP Hallmark Ornament

I came across this Hallmark Ornament. Its a 1943 Jeep. I would say it's about 1/50th scale. The lady behind the counter said that this is the "Revealer Ornament" for 2012, meaning it was the surprise ornament for that year and wasn't advertised. (Geez everyone's getting into the "secret item" thing)...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

Very nice JR 8) Like what you are using for the tarmac. Looks like concrete, or asphalt. Don't have any 1:144 aircraft from Vietnam era yet, but Spooky is a good place to start. Your pic shows the machine guns. Gatling gun out the door is cool. The Hueys and Cobra are which make? The tarmac came in...

Wasn't the $4-$5 price for them when they were new and you could get them? I figured a little under $9 each is not too bad seeing that new 1/144 plastic models go for around $10 a piece.

Ok this could be a win win situation. The museum could get some revenue and some web site members could get some pieces at a good price. As soon as I get some pics I will put up a thread on the buy sell trade section.

Re: My Matchbox Collection

I just checked the eBay Mastchbox listings and most of the planes, including several F-86s, are there and looking good. For the most part, the prices seem reasonable ($20-40). Yeah, they always have all but what I want though, I saw all of them BUT the F-100's, if anyone finds on at a decent $20-$3...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

Has anyone ever tried the website Historic Aviation? Several years ago I picked up a 1/18 Hellcat for $30! They frequently have some pretty good sales. They have a lot of 1/144 and some are now on sale like this one. http://www.historicaviation.com/product_info.po?ID=15400&product=Models+and+Kits&ca...

Re: opinions on 21st Century 1/144 planes?

By far the F-toys P-51s are the better aircraft all around but in a line up or for backdrop filler the 21st P-51s look pretty good. Heres a line up up F-toys and 21st Mustangs. Behind them are 2 Bandai WingClub P-47 Bubble tops and a 21st P-47 Razorback. The issues we found when we were searching fo...

Re: My Matchbox Collection

Very nice collection. I have had several of them. We picked them up at Toy r Us. I think they were around $8.99. I have seen that Robin Olds P-38 go for some big dollars. For their age and price they were some beautiful pieces. Too bad they did not have the landing gear option.

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

JollyRoger, what brand are those Piper Cubs? The Cubs are actually cardboard with stretched spru for wing braces and tires. We came across plans for a paper model and shrunk it down to what looked like 1/144 size. Printed it out on a cardboard stock and started folding and gluing. You can pick out ...

The special Buffalo was the pre war with the yellow wings. Yea the 3 Doolittle's in each box was pretty awsome. I did pick up a couple more with the thought of making them in a diorama on the deck of the Hornet! I started researching for the tail serial numbers and the nose art but it kind of pooped...

Thanks Dauntless, from what I can tell that is the complete set from 21st century, singles and doubles. We probubly have another 2 sets out of the box's in different displays. They were a great base model to repaint and put on different decals. We were pretty lucky at one point. At the end of 21st's...

Re: Beginnings of my 1:144 aircraft fleet

Hello all, my son and I have been collecting 1/144"s for well over 10 years. I could not believe the massive amount we had until I started taking pics for this thread. We have at least 1 aircraft from every company that made this scale. We think this is the best scale for the amount of aircraft that...
