Re: 1/18 V2
Sorry for the delay in this reply. My computer got a terrible virus and i wasn't able to get it fixed till today. Thos integral mating collars look good, but if it messes with the outer surface, then i'd say go with the previous version that worked. And the internal structure looks great, but if it ...

Hmmmm.
Well in that case, can you do the print in a cooling jacket in a cold room, or set up some household cooling fans blowing cold air onto it?

Hmmm... Is it possible to "pause" the print halfway through to allow the piece to cool a bit?

I have been trying to find some of these for customs.
Anyone else seen them at local stores for $15 or thereabouts?

Very nice. Would anyone be interested in an A-10 as a vacform?
It would be a lot cheaper than a resin kit that's for sure.

Re: 1/20 scale Warhammer scratchbuild project(Arvus Lighter)
I have been forgetting to update here... I have been working on the paintwork. I got a bit more done today. I have dialled up the panelling grime. Don't panic with the first image of the exterior... The idea was to make it really thick and then dial it down again with more misted white. The inside h...

Great results can also be had from the Bare Metal Foil co scribing tool. It's very similar except the head is reinforced. I have had three in my time, but since they reinforced the head, the design is perfect and i can't imagine ever needing to replace this one. I have used mine on many model projec...

I wonder if we are any closer to this. Anyone heard anything?
I would love to get this racer as a kit. I want to build a few funky JTR salt flat racers and this would be perfect with big 4WD wheels on it.

Re: 1/20 scale Warhammer scratchbuild project(Arvus Lighter)
Here is today's progress. I added the sheet to cover the previous screw holes and painted all parts first black then white. The white will be gently sanded eventually for areas of wear, going to the black undercoat, with metal colour underneath that. That will be later. For now, here are pics of tod...

Re: 1/20 scale Warhammer scratchbuild project(Arvus Lighter)
Okay guys. Got a bit done today. I stripped the Arvus again, and removed the lighting circuits. I needed to add about 12cm of cable to the dashboard light(It was a bit of a tight fit, which was one of the reasons for the test fitting. To make sure it all fit in). With that done, i dremelled out a co...

Re: 1/20 scale Warhammer scratchbuild project(Arvus Lighter)
Wow Bar, seriously. For scratch builders in Sci-Fi like myself, this is really inspiring work. Thanks. I always just build what i enjoy building. That's how i keep my enthusiasm in it! I really don't know much about those Ma.K things. I've seen them, and I'm tempted to buy some, but just never pull...

Re: 1/20 scale Warhammer scratchbuild project(Arvus Lighter)
i thought thats what they were. thanks for the info. No worries. It's no problem. I tend to use Ma.K figures for most builds, and as i tend to always build flying craft, i use the Falke pilot as the pilot in everything. Still a WIP, but here's my Anti Grav Jetbike with a Falke pilot(Made from a sha...

They are Brickworks figures from Japan. You can do a search. Or search Ebay for "SF3D figure", "Ma.K resin" or "1/20 resin figure".
