Re: 21C existing mold modifications could equal...
*** BIG problem - the M4 (105mm) used an entirely different upper hull from the 21C. The 105 howitzer versions of both the M4 and M4A3 used the later hull with 47 degree hull front (no protruding divers' hoods). Binder, there were also the 105mm M4s with the older upper hull. Some of them used by t...

I wanted rather the Sherman variants. I don't suppose this second most produced tank of the war will be enough attractive for FoV and 21CT to make new molds of the hull. So, we will stay with the M4 (21CT - well, there are two ones, with a sharp or three-parts round nose) and M4A3 (FoV) for ever :( ...

Rev. Zdzislaw Peszkowski, the chaplain of the Katyn Families Association, died in Warsaw a day before yesterday. He was the last living of the group of only 250 Polish officers who were prisoners in the Soviet POW-camp in Kozielsk and avoided the massacre in Katyn forest. I had a honor to meet him a...

Phil, you could watch it in the Internet after paying PLN 6.10 or 3.66 via SMS but only in Polish. I searched: "tajemnica twierdzy szyfrow" + subtitles: http://www.google.com/search?hl=pl&rls=com.microsoft%3Apl%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7GGLJ&q=%22tajemnica+twierdzy+szyfrow%22+subtitles&btnG=Szukaj&lr= a...

"The Cipher Fortress" - New Polish TV Series
The original Polish title: "Tajemnica Twierdzy Szyfrów". Lower Silesia, early 1945. Soviet spies in US send to Moscow the top-secret American informations about the atomic bomb. They use a very special code and don't know that the Germans could break it to speed up their own works on that weapon. In...

Blaster, Phil! Thank you very much for your invitation! Yes, I always go to France via Belgium (always? it was only one time...) and always taste some of "500". And also the great pralines "Leonidas" (strange association: Leonidas + 500. Could the Spartans win when the the number of them was 500?). ...

Mark, you are a true expert in history  :D ! Thank you for the reminder of the days of Poland's glory! Unfortunately, we had to leave Moscow in 1612 (and the anniversary of that is celebrated as the national holiday in Russia). We could say it was an ordinary, cruel war, a simple rivalry betw...

Yes, everybody knows Poles want to fight always and everywhere in opposition to Czechs which do never fight... Yes, our nations have different characters, even the heroes in the Polish and Czech literatures are different (like the bold adventurer Kmicic who fought bravely against the Swedish aggress...

Grockwood, of course, you are right, there were the Mk Ic (M4) Fireflies and Hybrid Mk Ic (composite-hull)*, too. On the other hand, all M4 Fireflies I saw on the photos had the one-piece medium or late differential and final drive housing. But the majority of Fireflies was the Mk Vc (M4A4) version ...

A nice model, but... I am not sure if the version of the tank is proper. The model is the Sherman Mk Ic (M4 with 17 pdr gun) but this tank should be probably the "export" Mk Vc (M4A4 with 17pdr gun) which looked different: the hull was distinctly longer, the distances between bogies were longer, the...

The main part of Western Germany would be attacked by Russians and East-Germans. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=75628&highlight=warsaw+pact Fortunately, NATO knew all these plans, i.a. thanks to the Polish Colonel Kuklinski http://en.wikipedi...

Re: When the Czech army was supposed to invade France
It would be funny if it were not so dangerous: in the Soviet plans, the smaller Czechoslovak Army had to invade France and the bigger "People's Polish Army's" target was Denmark (!). Who knows why? It is of course a rhetoric question; I don't suppose the former Soviet generals are small scale enthus...
