Avengers at Samar

Here's an interesting website which covers the battle of the escort carriers off Samar in the Phillipines. The Avengers were not set up with anti-ship torpedoes and attacked the Japanese ships with bombs or no ordnance at all. Supported by the Wildcats with only their guns. Enjoy.... http://www.bosa...

Avenger proposal

Wow, great photos! Thanks for sharing! I agree about the Atlantic scheme as the first release. I think 21C made a good selection backed up with good research to use the ASW Avenger. The proposal above is for followup repaint possibilities. Always fun to put up for discussion. I also like the idea of...

Avenger proposal

I've done some internet surfing and have learned that George Bush was flying a TBM-1C when he was shot down in September of 1944. The 21C Avenger is the correct version to represent this. I've also been waiting for the Avenger since I first saw it advertised about a year ago. The photos from the toy show convince me that it'll be worth the wait! The detail and authenticity (for a 'toy') is amazing. And you can definitely see an improvement over time. The later offerings exhibit much ...

Toy Fair

Wow: great scouting, guys! I appreciate the advance intel! I've been waiting for the Avenger...and it looks absolutely great! Rockets, too, which weren't in the early photos. The Mark 13 torpedo looks good, although it should have the Mark 24 "Fido" (much smaller than the Mark 13) for the Atlantic A...

P-38 HVAR rockets?

Greetings all: I'm (slowly) converting a Corsair to late WWII Pacific theater. (VF84 from USS Bunker Hill). I'd like to put 8 underwing rockets on it. The 21C P-38 Lightning (which I don't have) does have the correct rockets. If anyone does not plan on installing the rockets on their P-38, I'd be wi...
