Re: Kit Versions of Opel Trucks

Well, based on what I saw in this thread and full of curiosity, I went out and got one of the Opel Blitz (sp?) kits and it was gray (or grey for our British friends). I'd wanted the tan version, but it was not to be. So... I'll take it back in a week or I may just use a little panzer yellow spray on...

Re: 21st Century KT w/"Porsche" Turret

King Tigers w/"Porsche" turrets did have extra links on the turret sides just like production King Tigers, but not until after the Battle of Normandy, September, 1944, and after if I remember correctly. I have seen pictures of KT "Porsche" with a short track link stored horizontally just aft of the ...

This is the review that I've been looking for. Thanks so much.

Re: Kit Versions of Opel Trucks

Do all of the Opel Blitzes in kit form have tan camo? I've been waiting for a tan/camo version to show in pre-built. Thanks.

Re: Dragon Jagdpanthers

I have just received an email from Diecast Direct letting me know that Jagdpanthers 60037 and 60038 have been cancelled by Dragon. I pre-ordered them when they were first announced so, by reflex, I'll still be checking for them online for a while. :)

And so it goes...

Re: Request for Review...

Thanks to all for the replies. I'm leaning toward not getting this one unless I get a positive review. The tank's having a crew would be something that might sway my choice, but it appears that it does not. The paint job is just too garish. Dragon in 1/72 has already done this paint job much more ac...

I may be wrong, but I believe the gun identified as a 105mm is actually an 8-inch howitzer. We're gonna need a prime mover to pull this one as well as the Long Tom.

The Enthusiast version of this half-track does have a quad 20mm that elevates and depresses. For lack of a better word, there is a "stop" on the front of the gun mount roughly between the two guns on the left and the two on the right that will not let the gun depress. If your guns can elevate just a...

Re: FOV 2007 Offerings

Many thanks, Hanomag, I've been looking for pics on the Web off and on all day. The German prime mover looks fantastic. One question, if I may... Does the catalog list a repaint of the 88? I've been holding out for a camo version. :D

Re: Hobby Master Tigers

I purchased the 1:48 Peiper Battle of the Bulge King Tiger "008" (HMG0106) as the Corgi 1:50 scale, which I collect, hasn't yet produced one and I felt the two lines would complement each other. I especially liked the paint scheme of this particular one and the opening commander's hatch cover. Corgi...

German Mortar Crew 32X Playset

I got this set because I wanted a camo version of the 8-ton tractor to go with my camo 88 flak. I already had the 32X gray 8-ton tractor so, naturally, I've compared the two. The camo version still has the same two problems as the gray one, namely, the rear towhook is turned 90 degrees from how it s...

Panzer IV at Battle of the Bulge

In the book "The Panzers and the Battle of Normandy" there is a series of pictures of a Panzer IVC with the short 75mm gun dated as being spring of 1944. The author states that the 21st Panzer Division had several of obsolete types of tanks in its inventory.

I found the new 32X Brumbar, Panzer IV D, and Priest at the Fuquay-Varina Walmart this weekend. This is their first appearance in my area. There were at least two of each when I left.

...just has to be the German pilot that came with the Seeman's 109 (and with others I believe). I didn't even take him from the package, but bought a carded Series 1 Bf-109 pilot instead.

Corgi 2007 Catalog on Website

Corgi USA has put a 2007 Catalog PDF download on their website. I'm only interested in the 1/50 scale armor and troops in which I'm disappointed. The only real surprises are the Russian troop offering and the armored cab on one of the German flak halftracks. I'm not into Russian stuff and I already ...

Re: ...repaint vehicles...

I'm a fan of the Jagdpanther, but I was really disappointed in the paint job for FOV's Normandy (series 1) effort. There was so much weathering on the hull and superstructure that I could make out no camo pattern. So I rubbed in down with alcohol which removed quite a bit of the weathering and then ...

Found FOV 1/72 Scale at Brief Creek Target, Raleigh NC

There were 2 Sd.Kfz. 251 D with rockets, 1 M113, and 1 T-34/85. There were also some of the older armor such as the T-72 and the Churchill.
