I remember the SDKFZ 251/1s at TRU last year. I already had one though. I was looking for the Stummel. My local TRU has JTs up the wazzoo at the moment, so I guess the anti-German period is over officially. With so many stores now carrying FOV we may see a restructuring of the whole "Action"/"Enthus...

That soon? I was thinking 2050. Anyway... French tanks? English tanks? Italian, Japanese. Arab-Isreali war 1956, 1967, 1973, Beka valley. Tons of cool vehicals.schizuki wrote:In 1/32 scale, we've got one - count 'em, one - Soviet tank after how many years? At this rate I expect to see a JS-II in 2030.

Closest WM is 22 miles away. If I leave from there, the next one is nearly 40 more miles. Too much gas and time if they don't have them. In my case its cheaper to pay $25 each (includes shipping) and be done with it. Could be worse, dude. There are probably eight Walmarts and five TRUs within 22 mi...

The only thing with British birds is they really didn't color their birds up. Besides mid-war camo changes, different letter signs, invasion stripes and the occasional small personal/unit crest insignia there isn't the wide variety you would find with US or German birds. DO a Spit V. Machine guns o...

38ts
Found a couple 38t's at TRU in Cerritos, lots of other stuff. The new boxes do look like the 48th aircraft boxes, so look carefully. No Marders though, got my 38t. My more local TRU in Torrance has a few FOVs some 1/18 stuff and shelves of JagdTigers (blech). Walmart is still AWOL although I did see...

I would never ever use the History Channel as a source to go off of. There have been many a hole poked into some of the things they have said over the years. I personally would stick to some of the experts in a specific field to go off of, the History Channel not being one of them. In fact in one p...

Favorite AC 21st "Bullfrog" P-51 tied with 21st Corsair (Corsairs just RULE) This was actually ahrd as I really like almost all my 21st AC. Favorite AFV Another tie. My 505th Tiger and my Pershing, both FOV of course. I have to stand up for one of my "runner-up" choises, the Grant. The Russians didn...

FOV M5A1 Review (Action)
Nice model! Physically the details are nicely done. The best piece of realia I could find online to compare it to was a Stuart (in service late'42) being restored. FOVs tank agrees with most of the visible details on the real thing. The real stuart lacked the hedgerow device (obviously). One interes...

IMO, for the price nothing beats enthusiast FOV unless you have the time, patience and skill to build armor yourself from a kit. If you find so many flaws you might be happier building your own where you can modify most anything to your liking. 8) My major point was that these people spend hundreds...

Bottom line is somebody needs to do a decent Panther. The FOV Jagd looks real good, so I guess it'll have to stand in. The Zimmerit problem is worse than suggested. Physically the FOV Panther is an early model G. That plants its production firmly in the ZIM period. Early model G's had ZIM. Are there...

You need to get the FOV 88mm gun I agree. I don't want to stir a hornets nest, but this REALLY is an apples and oranges comparison, because there is no comparison. I couldn't agree more. Comparisons across price range and company don't work. In fact I find myself retiring 21st vehicals when I can "...

Some times they do a FABULOUS job. I have several 21st models that are awesome. I'll probably never buy a FOV 88. The 21st century one I have is great. THere are places to cut costs. The vehical we're discussing here was a good oppertunity to put something new and cool out while only investing in ab...

My problem is they make the effort, sometimes. How hard was it to get it right. New mold for the turret, mold the 20mm plate and glue it in place over the existing hull This would look better anyway). You could still have 80% comonality with the earlier tank and still have it look at least close to ...

Wasn't there a self proppelled 155? M12 maybe? David Yes and no... The M12 was built in limited numbers using a WW1-vintage French-designed 155gun (M1917A1 or M1918) on the chassis of the M3 Medium ("Lee"). 74 of these went to the ETO for use in non-divisional SP artillery battalions and were quite...

I've got the "early" III and the IIIL. The L is pretty sloppy. If you look closely it's EXACTLY the same model as the "early" III except for the mantlet, gun, and turret bustle. Even the extra boxes and such are exactly the same in exactly the same place, lame. The vision hatches on the turret sides...

32x KT
As for Zim on Tigers. Most Tiger Is should have Zim. With the King Tiger production started early Summer '44 IIRC. That's the back half of the "Zim" period, so a significant portion of the KT's production came after zimmerit was discontinued. So.. naked KTs are cool. Naked early production Panther G...
