Wargaming
I wargame with the 1/18 stuff. If I can't play with it, I don't really want to own it. I play it with my high school students a couple of times a year. Been using my own home rules for several years now.

1/6 Pz III
[quote="Threetoughtrucks"]How about the Panzer III in 1/6 and RC? A prototype was made and then the project died. Why? Not a complete answer but several years ago, when this project was being talked about, the CEO of 21st told me that they were having problems finding a company that would work with ...

Recollections
I certainly feel lucky to have got what I did. I do not remember the wall being around the hayloft at all over the Expo. The government building and bridge were definitely NOT given away. As I recall, 21st had special foam shipping boxes for those pieces. Those were true prototypes with no molds eve...

More photos added
I put in some more of my old 2002 Expo photos of 1/18 XD. You can now see... 1. An unreleased weathered Sherman 2. The unreleased bridge prototype ... wide enough for 2 Shermans. 3. Interior and side shots of the unreleased government building. Again grunt1, you may feel free to add any of these to ...

No problem
Feel free to use the images on your site. At the 2002 Expo, 21st Century had advertised on Groundpounder's old site that they needed people to help setup and takedown their displays. I went along with a friend and gave assistance. At the Expo 21st also had pieces for sale (at wholesale prices). This...

Photos Finally Up
Sorry it took so long but I've been super busy at work. I took some photos of the 2 unreleased Shermans I own. My camera is not the greatest so the red brown didn't stand out as much I'd like but you can get the idea. Notice that nothing is painted on the vehicles except the camoflage pattern. The r...

Unreleased
The unreleased Shermans look just like the photo already posted but I will try to take some pics of mine this week and get you some images from different angles than the stock photo.

Unreleased Prototype
Several years ago , at the international hobby show in Chicago area, 21st Century sold 3 of the unreleased protoype vehicles. I bought 2 of them and another guy there bought the other 1. Not sure if there were any others but what is interesting is that none of the normally painted parts were painted...

Warping
Since the thread I decided to look over the 76mm turrets and you are right Kamikaze, one of my barrels is warping too. Sorry about that. I'm planning on trying to dunk it in warm to hot water and bend it back into shape. Have you tried that? While I'm at it I should see if my molder friend still has...

T26 turret
The turret was actually made and sold by me several years ago. It was 9th Waffen who was selling it. He got out of 1/18th in favor of 1/6th. I agree, it would have been nice to have a raising and lowering gun but this would have been tricky with resin as it is rather brittle in smaller pieces. Also ...

Schurzen kit question
I must have been sleeping for a while. Somehow I missed this whole development. Does Gary1930 have a website? Or is there an old thread on these aftermarket kits? I'm possibly interested in some of his schurzen and would like to see the Jagdpanther pieces.

1/16 sturmtiger for pre-order
It looks like Mato Toys will be the sole distributor to North America for this cool piece of armor. Sounds like the vehicles were held up by a rail strike and may arrive in the near future. Cost $145.

Thanks TOOL. I mostly use Evergreen styrene sheet and brass tubing purchased at my local hobby shop. They make a wide variety of shapes and thicknesses. Here's a link to their website: http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ Like many other customizers on this board I just find a good blueprint style d...

Looks like they have just started arriving. This guy has several available but his price seems a little high compared to the other Heng Long stuff. I'm gonna wait for them to come down in price and arrive in the US. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Heng-Long-1-16-Remote-Control-Panzer-Airsoft-Tank_W0QQitemZ2...

Panther panels
At one time I made and sold resin Panther skirts. The were scored so you could break them up any way you wished to simulate missing in action skirts. I can't even remember what I sold them for but $15 probably wasn't too far off. I sold a few of them on this board a few years back. Here's a link to ...

VK3001(H)
Kind of a wierd vehicle to mass produce with only 2 being built for trial by fire in Russia. I guess that's what Easy Model has been done in the past though. At least its not another commonly produced vehicle. This chassis was part of the testing that led to the Tiger I if I'm not mistaken. From the...

1/16 Heng Long Panzer III L
Just a heads up to those of us who don't mind some of our vehicles being slightly out of scale. Heng Long will be releasing a 1/16 R/C version of the Panzer III L to the US and EU sometime in the next 3 months. Past prices have been competitive with 21st Century AFV prices and the photos look pretty...

Memories
I remember those as well. Glad you brought that memory back to mind. I had a white SU-85, a grey Tiger I (why can't they ever get that right), and a green Patton. There might have been other ones (I vaguely recall a Tiger II). Mine were lost long ago ... probably in a sandbox somewhere.

Very nice work! Personally I keep my custom pieces a little while before selling Just curious why you sold it so it so quickly? Was this a pre-paid project? Anything else in the pipeline? Thanks for sharing the pics!

Very nice!
Some great paintwork there.
I sold mine a few months back in part because of the paint scheme. I was unwilling to spend the time redoing it. I'm glad to see somebody did one of these right.

truck conversion
A while back I had thought briefly of using a truck chassis as a foundation for an M8 conversion. The tires looked pretty similar to me but I didn't realize tire size was different, thanks for info. Personally I'd probably be willing to live with the difference for the trouble of making new ones. As...

M8/M20
Are you going to use the truck as the chassis basis or doing a complete scratchbuild?
I may have some drawings. I'll check tonight and send them to you if I can find them.
