Re: How to make sandbags?
I had good luck with milput putty on my Sherman project: http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13747&hilit=suzy+Q just made the basic shape, pressed it into some fabric to print on it some "fabric" texture, made a seam with a clay shaping tool, and baked. Once you get going you can ...

Very nice display! ....and agree that the Merit Dauntless is the superior example in 1/18 prop driven, thus far.

And to take a BBI Bf-109G2 to the next level, check out what a little modeling skill can do to the BBI mold.

Re: Panther Skirtzen Accepting Orders Now !!
Just received the Panther skirtzen…really dig your modeling/mold making talent Matthew, the thinned edges are very nice and the extra clips are well thought out and work great. Thank You!

Re: anyone ever removed the engine from a 21c Tiger?
Ok, I will try and fit the tiger engine into the Panther tonight...the panther is all apart and seems like a good project to try while I wait on some parts and Pickelhaube's skirts to arrive.

Re: anyone ever removed the engine from a 21c Tiger?
I will look tonight...I think I still have a project Tiger that is all cut apart and if so will send you a transplant Maybach...will check "Panther fit" as I have one sitting on the bench waiting for some detail work.

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION
Quite a nice testimonial to Merit and their Midway Dauntless from Mr. John Mollison, who has an actual piece of airplane fabric from an SBD Dauntless dive bomber that is recorded to have been present at Pearl Harbor, the battle at Midway and later, a Naval training squadron at Lake Michigan. (2-B-2)...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION
"VB-6 gave up our old SBD-2s after returning from the Doolittle mission at the end of April, 1942. We received brand-new SBD-3s that were as close to “factory new” as could be (with having been shipped from California to Hawaii). They were the cleanest airplanes I ever saw in the Navy.” Richard H. Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION
Has anyone else noticed that the clear plastic shipping tray for the Merit Dauntless has packaging blisters for the Westinghouse radar antennas under each wing? Is the S-3 version going to be a SBD-5? …Maybe VMSB-231 "Ace of Spades"? ….Jim?

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION
Just received my Midway Dauntless from Aikens Airplanes, and concur with Tman, it is just as well executed in “fit and finish” as the Coral Sea version. This really is one great looking and historically significant aircraft Merit chose to produce…Great job Merit, another homerun!

Re: BIG NEWS! BBI will be issuing a repaint of the 1/32 F-4
I feel for what you get quality and detail wise from BBI the price of $99.00 is right in the ball park...but, I hate to say this because I want to support BBI for their effort and really wanted to pick up a 1/32 Phantom... not in this livery…display space in my house is very limited and for me, any ...
