Battle Damaged TBF-1
Well... My TBF-1 Avenger sustained some "battle damage". Lost the left horizontal stabilizer /elevator to my 55lb German Shepherd. (Didn't know the Germans were active the Pacific Theater) I have tried to glue it using Testors Model Cement with no luck. Anyone have any glue recommendations fo...

Wal Mart in Sierra Vista, AZ has about 20 Avengers priced at $35. I picked one up and will monitor how the prices go. Kept my receipt so I will return the $35 one if they drop significantly lower. I think these didn't sell too well because the opening price of $69.99 was too steep for non collectors.

hworth, Thanks.... that looks like a must have. I didn't see it at BadCat. These are showing up at Wal-Mart? I've sort of stopped doing the 1:18 scale. I don't have the room to display them. These 1:32nd are looking better all the time and getting a lot more variety as well. Sure wish they'd do a Bf...

Re: Siler City, NC Walmart Recon
I found the 1/32 Wasp 109, 1/32 black Thunderbolt, and 1/32 Ridge Runner (I think) P-51 in the newly moved toy section (now at the back). I also found four 1/18th Ridge Runners in the clearance section (in garden area) as well. I left them all. They also had two PIV D's. The pickins were especially...

Well, you guys in the east got the 1:18 P-51s and the new S2 BoB figures, as well as the German F-104s and Seeman 109Gs; thus we in the west get the 32x Macchis and Zeros. We've got to finally have our do - afterall, it took over three months for the silver F-104s, ME-109G repaints and Sky Captain ...

Both Adolf Galland and Heinz Knoke were nearly killed bailing out of 109's where the release knob broke and refused to release the entire canopy. Galland experienced this in an Emil, Knoke in a Gustav. In this situation, they could only open the main -but not entire - portion of the canopy, leaving...

...in my opinion and that's why i think things like hurricanes, typhoons, zeros, yak 9's etc would sell well....but 21c does not always agree with me. They won't sell as well as P-51's and Messerschmitts but there are only so many'A' list aircraft. Once you've made them you either have to make othe...

boyx30...i'm sure they'd be no problem to pop off. You may want to wait for a desert version repaint by 21c. With their passion for repaints and a dessert version being such an obvious and interesting choice, i'm pretty sure we'll see one in the next few months. It will be a must have, for sure.. :...

FW190s
Here in Sierra Vista, Arizona we have two "new" FW190d9s. There is a Black 1 and a Black 12. The Black 1 was all beat up so I didn't pick it up. The Black 12 I did... but it is very poor quality. I am sure 21st C is dumping their rejects into the Wal-Mart system. The underneath of the wings on Black...

Re: ?'s about Bf-109E's
Hey guys, I hope someone can answer a few questions for me: 1)-I noticed that on both Gallands 109, and White 12, that, besides being painted the same, there is a shield with an "S" in gothic lettering. Did both planes belong to the same squadron? Did Galland and Muncheberg fly together? Thanks in ...

1. Yes, both belonged to JG26. Check out the profiles of the planes here: http://community.webshots.com/user/teamski1 2. The plane belonged to NG1, Pilot unknown. Profile is in the Profile Album. 3.The Online guys get first shot at just about all paint schemes. Many then go to Walmart thereafter. 4...

Good use of perspective! Too bad there aren't any flying examples of the FW-190D9 (or any 190s for that matter). One painted in those colors of JV-44 would draw attention at any airshow! In the United States there are 2 FW190d9s that I know of. One is the AF Museum, at Wright-Patterson, the other (...

The over all detail in the cockpit is superior to that of the Spitfire. The gauges have a very good look to them and the right and left cockpit inner panels are also detailed. The plane has the leading edge wing slats... :D Locking landing gear .... :D Moveable trailing edge surfaces for Ailerons Ra...
