Re: A fantasitc new Acid Rain World vehicle. Perfect for Joes!

Nice review. This is Kit Lau's masterpiece. Even if you don't collect Acid Rain World I would still consider adding this to your collection.

They are made by JoyToy. On the LockerToys website there is a wholesale page.

Thanks for all the reviews. I dislike that JoyToy has these 5 figure sets where all 5 guys are identical from the neck down.

Re: Joy Toy WW2 United States Army 1:18 scale action figure set

All 4 German sets are nice (Spring and Fall camo, Mountain Division and Werhmacht). I was disappointed in the US Army guys pictured above. All five figures are identical from the neck down. That's pretty lame for a set of five. And as other have noted, the ubiquitous web gear is rather poorly execut...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

I pre-ordered both sets of the new 1:18 scale Germans and it worked out to about $14 per figure. Same price as an Ewok from Hasbro so really not too bad. I will report back when they arrive.

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

I don't know if people have seen the pricing for the WWII figures but I hope it's not $25 per. I just ordered the new JoyToy Delta Force set and each guy came in under $20. Not cheap but just a few bucks more than some pretty simplistic mass-market figures out now (I'm looking at you TVC).

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

UPDATE: JoyToy has new pics of these guys up on their instagram account and state that there are already 3 waves of Germans coming: wave1 Wehrmacht (basic) wave2 Wehrmacht (mountain) wave3 Field Army (Camouflage) Also it sounds like we may finally get Brits, Italians and Russians. :!: "There will be...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

"Everyone posting here is a brigadier general! The thread is a little top heavy in brass." Ha - Probably why nothing is getting done! That said, I tried some various Luke Skywalker heads on Joy Toy neck posts and generally the SW heads have a hole that is slightly larger than the ball at the end of ...

Riddle wooshed over my head.
I like those Dragon guys too - hands and heads were too big but the static poses were great. Dragon weapons were great too.

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

The heads pop onto a neck (post), which itself pops onto the torso. I haven't done any head-swaps outside of other JoyToy guys but I can see what works. Unfortunately I am currently separated from a lot of my collection.

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

I agree on the chin strap. That is the problem with removable headgear on 1:18 - it is usually too big or bulky. For a while JoyToy was just doing multiple heads in each set, some with and some without headgear. The appearance was great but I know people want the option of using the headgear on othe...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

The soft goods help hide the joints on the 1/6 guys but usually look lame on 1:18 figures so I don't think 1/18 will get to where 1/6 is on articulation. Other key points of articulation on some 1:18 JoyToy guys: 1) a hinge at the toes, which is an amazing addition, and 2) a joint where the neck mee...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

I agree that the ability to hold weapons has generally been a shortcoming in 1:18 articulation. JoyToy has advanced the ball by including two key joints: On the right wrist, a "karate chop" hinge, and on the left wrist, a "curl" hinge. While not all the way there, these additions help. Some pics of ...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?

TMan, Razor - good to see you guys. Razor, the JoyToy modern guys look great in BBI vehicles, have interchangeable gear and weapons, and are basically modular among themselves (easy head swaps, arms swaps, etc...). The articulation is probably the best we've ever gotten in 1:18. This past year alone...

Do we really want new WWII figures?

That is what JoyToy is asking. For those who don’t know, they make impressive 1:18 scale modern figures. I think it would be fantastic if they made WWII figures. Their WWII teaser is on FB here:

1:18 AC for sale in NYC

I have a bunch of loose AC including an Avenger, a Corsair, a Zero, a bbi Mustang and the Cold War Jets. I also have a few planes NIB including the P-40, Galand 109 and FW-190. If someone is in the area I would offer good deals for pick up. A couple of other members have stopped by the cave over the...

New S2 of BBI 1/18 Marine Force Recon?

I saw a new [to me] series of the Marine Force Recon bbi 5-pack at Kmart. The figures are all in tan with brown combat vests. The M4s are black with 203 launchers from the early bbi 1/18 days. The "exclusive figure" is a scout sniper who looks familiar with some foliage on his shoulders and on his B...

Re: 21st century toys "Schutzstaffel" SS figure set

Crazy to remember how cheap these sets were after 21C produced them and most retailers wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. I regret not snatching up a bunch more.
